We are thrilled to announce a very special partnership that marks a significant milestone for Unlock Drama. We are now a proud supplier/vendor for Serco, and our first collaborative venture brings us to HMP Doncaster. Over the next 10 months, we will be delivering our 4.5-day intensive rehabilitation projects through theatre, beginning this month with a Mental Health Awareness project.
This partnership holds a particular significance as HMP Doncaster is where our founder, Rebecca Boden, first embarked on her theatre-in-prison journey. It was here, during her Master’s at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama in 2011, that Rebecca completed her theatre-in-prison placement. After completing her studies, she began an 18-month full-time residency at HMP Doncaster; helping to change the lives of so many through the arts.
Now, years later, we have come full circle. With all the learning and experience gained, Unlock Drama is poised to give back once more to the community that sparked our founder’s passion for this work. We are privileged to work alongside HMP Doncaster’s Safer Custody Team to ensure impactful outcomes for the prison population.
